Using ICT tools for Better Achievements in Comprehension and Summary Writing at the Senior Secondary School Level

ABSTRACT
The effect of technologies such as information and communication technology (ICT), the computer, the internet, power-point, e-books, e-learning etc, has been massive in nations that have keyed to these technologies. They have been of immense benefit to man in all spheres be it medicine, language, economy, defence, education, health, science etc. Despite this, the ICT tools are not being maximally utilized in Nigerian secondary schools and tertiary institutions for teaching and learning. The main focus of this paper is seeking to explain how comprehension and summary passages in SSCE could be effectively handled and to also underscore the need to employ ICT tools to teach and examine these aspects of English so that better achievements could be recorded by Nigerian students in English examinations.
